What's Happening at Alcove!

Volunteer Recruitment happening until April 14th!

We are looking for volunteers for the Spring/Summer season from May to August 2024. Come join our passionate team of volunteers and help us strengthen our community through the arts!

You can volunteer either weekly or biweekly, with a minimum commitment of only 5 hours per month.

Upcoming programs you don’t want to miss!

  • CALLING ALL MUSICIANS, this weeks Jam Session (April 4th) will be a LIVE MUSIC hip-hop jam with no DJs! We need musicians of all kinds to support the talented MCs of TRIBE Artist Society (@tribeartistsociety).

  • Join our Community Conversation with A.N. to discuss inclusivity in the arts. Letters to My Younger Self: Exploring Inclusivity in the Arts at Alcove's art space – a partnership with A.N. (@mebedroomstage) through the Artist As Changemaker Program at Trico Changemakers Studio (@tricostudiomru)!

  • Window Case Concert is back with One Big Jam (@onebigjam) and The Oratory (@theoratoryshow)! Check out Alcove during your lunch hour (11:30 am - 1:30 pm) on April 10 for an energetic musical performance right on the city block!

  • Interested in learning Music Production? Alcove Music Studio is offering two workshops this month, taught by Mayo: Music Arrangement (April 3) and Mixing & Mastering (April 17).

  • Interested in Street Photography? Sign up for Alcove Photo Club’s (@alcovephotoclub) Intro to Street Photography workshop on April 14th.

The Alcove Music Studio is accepting bookings for rehearsals and recordings!

About Us
The Alcove Centre for the Arts is a non-profit located in Calgary (244 7th Avenue SW). Our aim is to make the arts accessible through pay-what-you-can events and art workshops. We believe that art and creativity are integral to the human experience and in building vibrant and dynamic communities.

Visiting Us
Affordable parking is located at: TD Core’s Underground Parkade (745 4 St SW, Calgary, AB T2P 4K9). It has free 3-hour parking after 3pm on Weekdays, and a flat rate of $2 for longer. There is free 3-hour parking all day on Weekends, with a $2 flat rate for longer. If you are taking Calgary Transit, we are just across the street from 3rd Street Station.
