Alcove 2.0 in Beltline — Open House on August 23

Since day one, Alcove has been about making space—for creativity, for connection, and for community. Now, we’re taking that mission even further with the launch of Alcove 2.0, a second space located in the Beltline at 1040 8th Street SW, in partnership with cSPACE.

This new location gives us more room to support your ideas, whether that’s hosting an event, leading a workshop, or just finding a place to gather and make. We’re opening the doors wide on Saturday, August 23, for an Open House, and we’d love to welcome you in, show you around, and help bring your artistic visions to life.

Stay tuned on our Instagram for Alcove 2.0 details and updates, or feel free to email [email protected] with any questions!

August’s Creatives Mixer is Here!

End your summer on a high note with our quarterly Creatives Mixer, a fun, casual evening to connect with others!

You’ll meet folks we work with at Alcove—plus local creatives, grant folks, media professionals, city representatives, and other cool humans who care about building a more creative Calgary. There will be live music performances (with space to jam along if you’re feeling it!), plus an opportunity for a few guests to share their work with the crowd (pre-selected after RSVPs close). There’s also a door prize and a fun game to join for a chance to win prize packages from local artists and businesses!

This event is in partnership with Art for Social Change Network: Calgary Hub (ASCN).

Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM

*All are welcome to RSVP. Please note that a 2025 Alcove Community Card is required upon entry and can be purchased at the door.

Alcove is a creative hub for everyone. Whether you're an artist, a supporter, or someone who believes in the power of community, there’s a place for you here. As a charity, we rely on the kindness and actions of people like YOU to help us make Calgary’s art scene accessible. Here’s how you can get involved and support our work:

  • Snag a 2025 Community Card — Treat yourself or a friend to an all-access pass to special offers and creative experiences in Calgary for $30! Every purchase helps support local businesses AND accessible arts programming in Calgary!

  • Bring Alcove to Work — Does your workplace support local arts and culture? Whether it’s through an employee giving campaign or a corporate donation, your workplace can help fuel creativity in Calgary. Email [email protected] and let’s chat!

  • Show Up & Get Creative — Swing by during drop-in hours, join a workshop, or check out one of our events. When you show up, you support local artists and help build community. Click here for our program schedule.
