What's Happening at Alcove!
Creatives Mixer this month with Fundraiser!
Our Creatives Mixer is back on May 28th and we are hosting a fundraiser to help us raise some money for Alcove. Alcove is a non-profit organization and we rely on a variety of funding sources to operate, including donations.
This is the first official fundraiser that we are hosting so we are looking for your support! We have a Raffle planned with some awesome prizes that you don’t want to miss as well as a Silent Art Auction with local artists!
We will be closed during May long weekend (May 18-21).
Struggle Is Your Success Creative Entrepreneurship Program
Do you love music, art, dancing, creative ideas, and want to be entrepreneur? Alcove is partnering with SIYS - Struggle is your Success for a 5-week program to help youth ages 17-25 discover, develop, and set goals to achieve their full potential by engaging them in a variety of entrepreneurship activities.
Announcing Artist2Artist Admin Work Cafe
ARTIST2ARTIST ADMIN WORK CAFE is a place for artists & arts administrators to connect and grow their business, administrative efficiency, and expand their opportunities with partnerships. This is also a great space to connect with the grantors at Calgary Arts Development.
These registered series will be hosted 4 times this year (May, July, September November 2024) in collaboration with Calgary Arts Development. Each session will include a talk around topics relating to navigating negotiations, accounting, grant writing, conflict resolution, how to access galleries and more! We will conclude with a work session where there will be support on what you are working on!
*If you are unable to attend a workshop that you are registered for, please let us know at [email protected] so we can release the spot for someone else!
The Alcove Music Studio is accepting bookings for rehearsals and recordings!
The Alcove Music Studio provides rehearsal space, recording, mixing, mastering and production. You can book your session with Tobi Sinclair or Mayo.
*Friendly reminder to guests that hot food is not permitted in the space except during special events. This is to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the recreational art space.
*Parking in the loading zone by the back door is not permitted except for staff and facilitators/performers who have a workshop or performance at Alcove. Please do not park there otherwise.
