"What is Public Art?" Live Producers Jam & Talk w/ Nick Wise

"What is Public Art?" is a new series that explores expanding the definition of what we believe is "public art" through activations & community conversations. This series is in partnership with Calgary Arts Development.

Come join the Producer's Live jam & talk led by Nick Wise. The afternoon will begin with a window case activation of a producer's jam (open to all) followed by a public forum conversation led by Matias Martinez. There will be an "open mic" style sign-up at the doors if you would like to join & formally join the conversation.

Come down and let us know your thoughts and hopes for the future of Calgary's Public Art! FREE Event!

‘Stories of this Land’ Community Mural

Come participate in our community mural, "Stories of this Land"! Led by Matias Martinez, we have been creating a collaborative mural that represents the diverse stories, landscape and people that live, work and play on this land. Come make your mark & tell your story! The final mural will be revealed and completed in December 2024.

City Building Conversations on Zoning Bylaws

Help shape a simpler, smarter Zoning Bylaw. City Building Program is back at the Alcove Arts Centre and we're looking to share updated plans that will shape the future of Calgary to ensure our city keeps being a great place to live and thrive. The City Building Program is planning for the future of how we move, build, and use land across the city. We're looking to provide and engage with the artistic community to get their creative and insightful feedback, questions and concerns as we align the zoning bylaw with the Calgary Plan.

Please register to receive an honorarium for your in-person participation.
